Large selection of frames - including frames with magnetic clips, pediatric frames for ages 2 months and older. Frames available in all price ranges. We carry all brands of contact lenses. Knowledgeable opticians to assist you with picking the perfect frame and lenses. We also have a large selection of safety glasses.
We love our computerized visual acuity charts. This technology prevents memorization of the letters. There is also a special feature that allows us to perform a portion of a child's eye exam while they are watching a movie on the computer screen!
We also offer Eidon Retinal Exams in Columbia. This technology is used by Drs. Becvar to obtain a wide view of the retina. This exam is quick, painless and generally replaces the need for dilation.
Occupational / Computer / Specialty Glasses :
There are many new advancements in eyeglass lenses. We love helping patients select the best lens based on their work environment or hobbies. For example, many of our patients work on a computer for many hours during the day. There are special lenses designed to help alleviate eyestrain and fatigue. Our patients over the age of 45 oftentimes benefit from a specialized lens for computer work. Traditional progressive lenses require tilting your head to find the computer distance. Did you know there are specialized progressives that are meant for computer use? You can just look straight ahead at the computer monitor and then down at paperwork without having to tilt your head. These offer larger channels for computer work. This can help alleviate shoulder and neck pain and eyestrain at the end of the day. Here is a link to one of our favorite computer lenses:
We love offering the newest technology to our patients. One of the most exciting developments we have seen in the past several years is the new Varilux X progressive lens design. Many patients who were once unsuccessful with traditional progressives are able to wear this brand new lens. This progressive utilizes a totally new concept that enables wearers to see both in the distance and at near without having to tilt their head. It also offers wider channels. Think of it as a honeycomb design with distance and near vision throughout the lens. Our patients have done so well with this new lens! Check out the link below for more information on Variux X.

Our doctors truly enjoy fitting multifocal "bifocal" contact lenses! Sometimes it is a journey we must go on to find the lens that is just right for you. Sometimes that means trying a few different brands, but we are always happy to help you until you are HAPPY!
